According to Ice Universe, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will be unveiled on August 11 (the day after Samsung's foldables).
Normally, Xiaomi teases new product launches weeks in advance, so this comes as a surprise.
The date is most likely not a coincidence: Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun will deliver his third annual lecture on November 11th. "I want to talk about something different: everyone experiences setbacks and failures as they grow up, how I got out of the trough in life, and what life insights I gained," the CEO wrote.
.In any case, several leakers, including Ice and Digital Chat Station, discovered a screenshot taken by Lao Wei, Xiaomi's Mobile Product Manager, and allegedly taken from the Mix Fold 2.
It has a resolution of 1,080 x 2,520px, confirming the phone's cover display's rumored 21:9 aspect ratio. In comparison, the original Mi Mix Fold's cover display had a lanky 27:9 ratio.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, with 12GB of RAM and storage options of 512GB or 1TB. It will be capable of 56W fast charging (same as the original). It may not be the only new phone on Thursday, as the Xiaomi K50S Pro, Xiaomi's first phone with a 200MP camera, has also leaked.
