Samsung has officially taken the wraps off its most futuristic smartphone yet — the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold. After months of leaks, prototype showcases, and industry speculation, Samsung has finally confirmed its first-ever tri-folding smartphone, marking a huge milestone in the evolution of foldable devices.
With more than 16 foldables already in its product history, Samsung has now pushed the boundaries even further by introducing its biggest foldable screen to date, advanced hinge engineering, and a desktop-like experience from a phone.
A Revolutionary Tri-Fold Design With Titanium Hinges
The highlight of the Galaxy Z TriFold is its dual titanium hinge system, designed to fully protect the main display when the phone is folded. Unlike Huawei’s outward-folding approach, Samsung takes a safer inward-folding style—both sides of the main display fold into the center, while the cover screen is placed on the back.

The 6.5-inch cover display features:
- 2520 × 1080 resolution
- 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate
- Up to 2,600 nits peak brightness
- Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection
- 10MP front camera
This ensures the device is fully usable even when folded.
A Tablet, Phone & Desktop — All in One Device

Running One UI 8 on top of Android 16, the Z TriFold transforms into a multi-tasking powerhouse. Users can open three full apps simultaneously in portrait mode across the large tri-folding canvas.

A major debut feature here is standalone Samsung DeX. The phone can activate a full desktop-like interface directly from Quick Settings, without needing an external monitor. Pairing with a keyboard and mouse turns the TriFold into a portable workstation—ideal for travelers, students, and power users.
Premium Build, Slim Profile & IP48 Protection
Samsung crafted the device with Advanced Armor Aluminum, allowing it to remain surprisingly sleek for such a complex mechanism. When unfolded, it’s just 3.9mm at its thinnest point.
Dimensions & Weight
- Folded: 159.2 × 75 × 12.9 mm
- Weight: 309g
- IP48 rating (dust + water resistance)
Flagship Performance With Snapdragon 8 Elite
Powering the phone is the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, paired with:
- 16GB RAM
- 512GB or 1TB storage options
While the chip isn’t the newest generation, Samsung says it delivers consistent performance and better thermal stability for foldable form factors.
Triple Camera Setup Borrowed from Galaxy Z Fold7
The Z TriFold carries a premium camera system featuring:
- 200MP ISOCELL HP2 main camera
- 10MP 3x telephoto lens
- 12MP ultrawide camera
This setup is capable of flagship-level photography and matches Samsung’s top-tier foldable cameras.
Three-Cell Battery for a Triple-Fold Design
Samsung equipped the device with a 5,600mAh battery, divided across the three folding sections. Charging support includes:
- 45W wired charging
- 15W wireless charging
